Crisis within the Quebec Liberal Party: André Fortin Receives New Appointment
By suspending MNA Marwah Rizqy, Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) Leader Pablo Rodriguez has appointed Pontiac MNA André Fortin as the new parliamentary leader of the Official Opposition, which is currently facing another internal crisis. Rodriguez made this decision after Rizqy, the MNA for Saint-Laurent, dismissed her chief of staff, Geneviève Hinse — a close ally of the Liberal leader.
Adding to the turmoil, Rizqy’s spouse, Gregory Kelley, is also a Liberal MNA, representing the riding of Jacques-Cartier. As of now, the Pontiac MNA will assume his new responsibilities as parliamentary leader.
