Hydro-Québec Announces Temporary Increase in Water Levels at Bryson Dam

Hydro-Québec Announces Temporary Increase in Water Levels at Bryson Dam

18 November 2025 à 2:41 pm

Hydro-Québec informs the public that a temporary and gradual increase in water levels upstream of the Bryson Dam is planned starting Friday, November 21. The rise is expected to reach 30 to 50 centimeters above the current level and will last until mid-December.

According to Hydro-Québec, this increase will be felt primarily in the Bryson area and may also be noticeable as far as Lac Coulonge. After this period, the water level is expected to decrease by approximately 20 centimeters. Despite these changes, upstream water levels at the hydroelectric plant will remain within normal operating ranges.

Residents are advised that they may notice more pronounced fluctuations over the coming weeks due to this adjustment. This temporary rise will allow technical teams to carry out essential tests related to recent work at the hydroelectric plant.

Hydro-Québec thanks the public for their understanding and encourages anyone seeking more information to contact the Info-Projects line.
