Several municipalities in the Papineau Regional County Municipality (MRC) have celebrated new facilities and initiatives for their residents.

In Duhamel, the new playground at the municipal park was officially inaugurated. The mayor, several councilors, and the outgoing prefect of the MRC attended the event. Families were able to explore a rotating play structure for young children, a climber for older kids, swings accessible to all—including children with disabilities—and a psychomotor course designed for sliding, climbing, and balance activities. The surface is safely covered with wood chips provided by Tessier-Récréoparc.

In Plaisance, the municipal park has also been upgraded. Children aged 0 to 12 can now enjoy double slides, a rotating climber, and stimulating equipment that encourages physical activity. These improvements aim to breathe new life into this park, which is highly valued by summer camps and young families.

In Bowman, the Bowman Regional Forest Park unveiled its brand-new welcome pavilion last Friday. The pavilion features a reception area, a multipurpose room, restrooms, and parking. This $1.6 million project, supported by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Tourisme Outaouais, is designed to offer an enhanced experience for both residents and visitors. Normand Veillette, Development Officer at Loisir Sport Outaouais, provided the details:

Meanwhile, in the area, FADOQ-Outaouais inaugurated a new senior center offering facilities for computing, reading, and recreational activities. Once again, Normand Veillette shared the details:
