31 October 2025 à 8:31 am

Shortly before 10 p.m. on Wednesday evening, officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) station serving the MRC Pontiac stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 148 in Bristol. During the stop, police discovered illegal drugs and arrested the driver along with two passengers for drug possession. While the driver and front-seat passenger cooperated with officers, the rear passenger refused to comply and began kicking the car door, prompting police to place him in the patrol vehicle.

The driver, a 35-year-old man from Gatineau, and a 30-year-old woman, also from Gatineau, were released at the scene. They are scheduled to appear at the Campbell’s Bay courthouse and could face drug-related charges. The driver was also issued a $520 ticket for operating a vehicle while under sanction, and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

The rear passenger, a 33-year-old man from Gatineau, remained in custody and is expected to appear today at the Campbell’s Bay courthouse. He could face charges related to drug possession, mischief, and breach of probation. In total, police seized approximately 1,200 methamphetamine tablets during the operation.
