Telephone Fraud Alert in the Pontiac

Telephone Fraud Alert in the Pontiac

9 October 2025 à 2:33 pm

The Caisse Desjardins des Rivières de Pontiac is warning all Pontiac residents about a telephone scam currently circulating in the region. Several cases have already been reported to the credit union’s staff. Paul Boisvert, Market Development Director at the Caisse Desjardins des Rivières de Pontiac, explains:

Telephone scams—where fraudsters pose as trusted individuals to steal personal information or money—are becoming increasingly common. To deceive victims of all ages, scammers constantly develop new tactics. In some cases, they may even go so far as to ask for your access codes. With that information, they can gain access to your accounts and personal data to commit fraud.
Stay alert. If you have any doubts, contact your Caisse immediately.
