Elected by Acclamation: Sandra Armstrong Thanks Mansfield Residents and Hopes for Economic Growth

Following the close of nominations for the upcoming November 2 elections, several municipal officials across the region were elected by acclamation. In Mansfield-et-Pontefract, only one candidate found herself in that situation — outgoing mayor Sandra Armstrong. She said she was deeply moved by the public’s continued confidence in her leadership.

Despite a positive record over the past four years, Sandra Armstrong expressed disappointment with the municipality’s economic situation. She said she hopes the next term will bring new businesses — and perhaps even a major company — to set up in Mansfield.

 

 

Sandra Armstrong was first elected as a municipal councillor in 2017 before winning the mayoral election in 2021.
