Election in Bristol: Mayor Brent Orr Faces Challenge from an Incumbent Councillor

Election in Bristol: Mayor Brent Orr Faces Challenge from an Incumbent Councillor

25 September 2025 à 8:31 am

Bristol residents will head to the polls this fall, as Mayor Brent Orr faces opposition for the first time in years. First elected in 2009, Mr. Orr was returned to office by acclamation in both 2017 and 2021.

This time, he will be challenged by incumbent councillor Valérie Twolan-Graham, who currently holds Seat 1. Twolan-Graham secured more than 67 percent of the vote in the 2021 election when she was elected as councillor.

Orr, for his part, is seeking a fifth term as mayor.

The election is scheduled for November 2, with advance voting taking place a week earlier, on October 26.
