Thorne: Former Mayor Murdock Makes Another Bid
Although there are still about ten days left in the nomination period for the municipal elections, residents of two municipalities will soon be called to vote for their next mayor. This is the case in Thorne, where the tradition continues with the candidacy of former mayor Terry Murdock, who held office from 2013 to 2017.
Murdock is making another attempt after being defeated in both the 2017 and 2021 elections. However, this time he will not be running against outgoing mayor Karen Daly Kelly, but against another municipal councillor, Deborah Stafford, who currently holds Seat 4. In 2021, Terry Murdock received roughly 30% of the vote, garnering 95 votes compared with 203 for Ms. Kelly.
