MRC Pontiac Mayors Hold Final Meeting Before Elections — Could It Be Jane Toller’s Last?
MRC Pontiac Mayors Hold Final Meeting Before Elections — Could It Be Jane Toller’s Last?
The next meeting of the MRC Pontiac Council of Mayors will take place this Wednesday, September 17, at 6:30 p.m. This will be the final regular meeting of the council before the general municipal election scheduled for November 2.
It could also be the last meeting chaired by Warden Jane Toller. The first elected warden in the MRC’s history, Toller announced this summer that she does not intend to seek another term — though she still has a few weeks to change her mind.
Speaking recently with CHIP 101.9, Toller said she is still reflecting on her political future and has not confirmed her next steps. The coming week may prove decisive.
So far, Campbell’s Bay municipal councillor Josey Bouchard and fellow councillor Jean-Pierre Landry have both declared their candidacies.
The Council of Mayors meets in the Elsie Gibbons Room at the MRC Pontiac offices in Campbell’s Bay. Meetings are open to the public and are also broadcast online.
