A long-time partner of the Direction du soutien à domicile, de la déficience et de la réadaptation (DSADR), the Pontiac Association for Recreation for People with Intellectual Disabilities (ALPHI) organized an activity at the Patro in Mansfield/Fort-Coulonge on August 19 and 20, in collaboration with five staff members from the CISSSO.

Thanks to $2,000 in funding from CHIP 101.9 community radio’s Chase the Ace fundraiser, ALPHI was able to host a full day and evening of recreation, including overnight accommodation in the Patro’s cabins. The funding covered lodging and meals, as well as surprise gifts for 45 daytime participants and 40 overnight guests.

The group also received a community donation of T-shirts featuring the CHIP 101.9 FM logo.

ALPHI is a non-profit community organization whose mission is to promote inclusion and social integration for people living with intellectual disabilities or autism spectrum disorders. It offers accessible recreational activities across the Pontiac and Outaouais regions, helping participants take part fully in community life while feeling valued, respected, and recognized as active members of society.

Volunteer board members of ALPHI include: Danielle Chevalier, Victoria Larivière, Chantal Sirard, Chloé Bertrand, Cécile Bélair, Marie Doyle, Lise O’Reilly, Joanne Corrigan, Christopher Doyle, Tanya O’Reilly, Germaine Lacroix, and Phoenix Bérubé.

ALPHI Fundraiser Underway With Grocery Gift Card Raffle

The organizing committee wishes to inform the community that a fundraising campaign is currently underway to support upcoming activities. As part of this effort, a raffle will be held on December 19, 2025, with a $500 grocery gift card from Freshmart Bowers as the prize.

Tickets are available from members of the board of directors and are also being sold locally at Freshmart Bowers in Fort-Coulonge.

ALPHI extends its warm thanks to the community for its continued support.
