Shawville Publishes Public Notice for Upcoming Municipal Election

As the date of the municipal election approaches, the Municipality of Shawville issued its official public notice on September 2. Crystal Webb, serving as Chief Electoral Officer, announced that all positions will be open, including the office of mayor and six (6) council seats.

Nomination papers for any of these positions must be filed at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer—or with a designated deputy, if applicable—during office hours, between Friday, September 19, and October 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

If more than one candidate seeks the same position, an election will be held at Dr. S.E. McDowell School, located at 89 Centre Street in Shawville. Advance voting will take place on Sunday, October 26, with election day scheduled for November 2.
