Success of the Île-du-Grand-Calumet Group’s Fishing Tournament: Another Phase Planned to Enhance the “Honoring Our Roots” Project”
The fishing tournament organized by the Île-du-Grand-Calumet Group, held on Saturday, was a resounding success. In an interview with CHIP 101.9, one of the tournament’s organizers, Guylaine Lasalle, expressed her great satisfaction with the public’s enthusiasm, noting a new record in the number of participants.
“It’s a record—123 registrations! A record for the 50/50 draw as well—we raised $635, and that’s just part of the 50/50.”

The funds raised will go toward financing a new phase of the “Honoring Our Roots” project. The organizers also used the fishing tournament as an opportunity to explain how the money is being used.
“Yesterday at the fishing tournament, there was a sign explaining the ‘Honoring Our Roots’ project, to inform people about the fundraising efforts we’re doing,” they noted.
