Disappearance of the posts supporting the boards: the Fort-Coulonge arena estimates the cost at $5,000
The Draveurs Century 21 Élite Recreation Center indicated that the poles supporting the glass panels around the boards have disappeared. This is what the arena volunteers noticed. Before declaring that it was indeed a theft, the Committee asked the public if the equipment in question had been inadvertently taken.
This finding, made earlier this week, was described as a hard blow by the Committee of the Draveurs Recreation Center, which had just raised funds for the installation of new boards for the upcoming season. “It’s a hard blow after all the hard work and generosity our community has shown.” After a summer of fundraising and preparing for the replacement of the boards, we are facing an unexpected setback. The posts supporting the windows around the rinks have disappeared, and their replacement will cost approximately $5,000,” stated the Draveurs Recreation Center Committee.
The Committee still hopes to recover the missing poles and is seeking the public’s help. “If you have any information regarding these missing poles, please do not hesitate to contact us.” We will continue our raffles to help cover these costs, and we are very grateful for your ongoing support to ensure the safety and welcome of everyone in our arena,” added the Committee.
More details will follow soon, as CHIP 101.9 will soon be speaking with Stéphane Béland from the Draveurs Recreation Center Committee.
