Local acting troupe the Pontiac Community Players are hosting a series of free, outdoor productions at community parks throughout the region over the month of August.
Will Bastien, who is co-directing the production with Darlene Pashak, explained that the play “Twain’s Tales” will be a collection of short stories by legendary author Mark Twain. He said that they decided to do something a little different for this year’s summer project.
The first of five shows throughout the Pontiac will take place this Saturday (August 2) at 2 p.m. at Parc Centenaire in Fort-Coulonge, and will continue weekly at locations in Waltham, Litchfield, Shawville and Otter Lake.
A professional set designer, Bastien said that this production was trickier than usual, as their stage is a converted hay wagon and everything has to be made travel-ready.
The full interview with Bastien (5m20) is available here.
