Third annual Maurice Beauregard Tournament fills the Bay
The third annual Maurice Beauregard Memorial 3 pitch Tournament took place this past weekend, filling downtown Campbell’s Bay. The tournament honours the town’s former mayor, who passed away from cancer in October 2022, and is played in the municipal park that bears his name.
The funds raised by the event go towards three bursaries for local graduating students who demonstrate leadership and community spirit. Any funds left over will go towards improvements at Maurice Beauregard Park.
Kelly McMahon-Beauregard, his widow, said that despite the cold and clouds on Friday and Saturday, the turnout was great.
In the recreational division, the Corriveaus won for the second year in a row, while in the open division there was a rematch of the finals from 2023 with Fully Loaded prevailing over the Hitmen. The horseshoes tournament on Saturday was won by returning champs James Ostrom and Chris Sauriol.
McMahon-Beauregard said it was still too early to calculate the amount raised, but said it should be roughly in line with previous years. She thanked all the attendees and volunteers that made the weekend a success.

Fully Loaded were the winners in the open division finals.

The Corriveaus were the winners in the recreational division for the second year in a row.
