COOPÉRATIVE AGRISAVEUR: Job offer – GENERAL MANAGEMENT

Reporting to the cooperative’s board of directors, the General Manager will lead to the strategic mandates of the business while being actively involved in daily operations.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management and 3 years of management experience;
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered;
  • Experience in human resources management, including recruitment, training, and employee retention;
  • Understanding of how a slaughterhouse or butcher shop operates, or a willingness to complete training;
  • Knowledge of MAPAQ standards related to food safety and animal welfare, or willingness to complete training;
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting and securing funding;
  • Proficiency with digital tools and technologies (e.g., management software, accounting, office applications, communications).

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong ability to plan and oversee projects and activities;
  • Recognized leadership skills with the ability to motivate individuals and teams, and strong interpersonal skills;
  • Autonomous, professional, honest, dynamic, with a broad perspective and strategic vision;
  • Good judgment, high availability, strong initiative, and excellent organizational and planning skills;
  • Fluency in French (written and oral) is essential, with strong English skills considered a significant asset.

TASKS

  • Manage facility operations and supervise all team members;
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations;
  • Analyze and propose operational improvements to optimize profitability and productivity;
  • Understand and apply the values and principles of a cooperative business model;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local producers, customers, and agri-food sector partners.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Permanent, full-time position;
  • Salary to be determined based on experience;
  • Benefits as a worker-member of the Coopérative AgriSaveur du Pontiac;
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
