CHIP possède une licence de langue française au CRTC et assure par son mandat la promotion de la dualité linguistique au sein du territoire du Pontiac ainsi que celle de la vallée de la Gatineau et du comté de Renfrew, en Ontario.

La station de radio diffuse sur la fréquence du 101,9 sur la bande FM avec un émetteur d’une puissance de 10 KW, lui permettant de diffuser sur un grand territoire.

Afin de servir tous les gens de sa communauté, CHIP FM offre à ses auditeurs, une programmation diversifiée. L’un des buts principaux de la station est de bien informer la communauté avec des nouvelles locales et régionales qui ne sont pas nécessairement diffusées par d’autres médias régionaux. L’équipe entière de la station de radio travaille ardemment afin de faire de sa programmation, une qui reflète bien le portrait culturel, économique, politique, éducationnel et social de sa région”

En tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif, les revenus annuels de CHIP FM sont constitués; d’une subvention provenant du gouvernant provincial, des bingos hebdomadaires, radiothon annuel, ventre de publicités radio, frais d’adhésions ainsi que dons.

CHIP FM aussi connut sous le nom Radio Communautaire de Pontiac a été enregistrée en tant qu’organisme à but non lucratif en juin 1978. La première diffusion en ondes a eut lieu le 1er mars 1981.

Expect Lots of road construction projects in the MRC Pontiac this month.

In the municipality of Mansfield, construction of a culvert will be carried out on chemin du Bois-Franc, 750 meters south of rue Danis, began yesterday and will continue until August 11 between 7 am and 6 pm. The road will be reduced to one lane.

Also in Mansfield, work is continuing on highway 148, between rue Dagenais and rue L’Écuyer from Monday to Friday between 7 am and 7 pm. Traffic is controlled by of traffic lights, the road is narrower than usual. The work is scheduled for completion on 28 August.

Work is underway on Chapeau-Sheenboro Road, between the chemin Nichabau and chemin Birch Creek, in the municipality of Chichester from Monday to Friday, between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm and one lane will be closed for a distance of 500 meters for each portion of road under construction. The road is down to one lane. Work is expected to be completed by August 29.

Lastley, in the municipalities of Litchfield, Bryson and Clarendon, maintenance will be carried out on Highway 148, between chemin Moorhead and chemin Stewart, from today Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The road will be closed for 500 meters during operations on each section of road under construction, and the traffic will forced into one lane. The expected date of completion of this work is September 1.

SPECIAL NOTICE

September 18 2017 - To residents of Campbell’s Bay and Litchfield served by municipal water:

-  PREVENTATIVE BOIL ADVISORY
Due to a major break of a municipal water pipe and as a preventative measure, we ask that you boil the water for five (5) minutes before consumption and this, until further notice.

-  NOTICE TO REDUCE WATER CONSUMPTION
For this reason, the supply of water at our drinking water reservoir is not sufficient at this time. We are asking residents of the Municipality of Campbell’s Bay and Litchfield, who are served by our water system to limit their water consumption until the situation returns to normal.

-  NOTICE OF WATER INTERRUPTION
Also, there may be a temporary interruption in your drinking water supply.

Major Pontiac internet and telephony breakdown

A major breakdown caused a loss of both Internet and land line telephony service in both the Pontiac and parts of Renfrew county .

According to what CHIP 101,9 has learned, it seems that a vehicle is the cause of the breakdown that left several thousand without the Internet and phone.

Yesterday, the Haut-Bois de l’Outaouais sent a press release stating that the Poupore, Sieur-de-Coulonge, St-Pierre and Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Cœur schools had a special contact number available to parents to reach their children in case.

Further details are expected on this outage.

CHIP 101.9 is meeting this week with the Jane Toller a candidate for Pontiac MRC Warden. A businesswoman involved in various organizations, she explained her objectives in relation to her application for warden:
