Former mayor Pierre Fréchette announces he will be a candidate
It is confirmed, Pierre Fréchette, who held the post of mayor of Île-du-Grand-Calumet between 2016 and 2017, confirmed to CHIP 101.9 that he will try his luck once again in order to obtain voters’ confidence in view of the municipal elections next November. He had intervened a few times in recent weeks to challenge the municipal council of Île-du-Grand-Calumet on issues such as road maintenance, governance within the council or others files involving the municipality.
Pierre Fréchette will be the guest of the Bonjour Pontiac show on CHIP 101.9 tomorrow morning (Wednesday February 24) at around 7:40 a.m. During this radio interview, he will give more details about his motivations. In addition to having been mayor of Île-du-Grand-Calumet, Pierre Fréchette also presented his candidacy during the election for Warden of the MRC Pontiac in 2017.
Note that the current mayor of Île-du-Grand-Calumet, Serge Newberry, has already made known his desire to present his candidacy again.
