The Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) foundation announced an important new financial contribution for the development of Cooperatives in the Outaouais. The new support comes under the foundation’s major financial campaign: Voir Grand Ensemble.

The organization chose to donate $25,000 to create a scholarship fund for UQO graduate students to support their research on management and/or on the development of cooperatives in the region.

“The Fondation pour le développement des coopératives en Outaouais is proud to be partnered with the Fondation de l’UQO, to be able to encourage our students to continue studying cooperatives and to continue contributing to the development of society and the building of resilient communities,” says Daniel Roy, Fondation pour le développement des Coopératives en Outaouais bord president.

The President of the Fondation de l’UQO’s Board of Directors, Nathalie Brunette thanked the Fondation pour le développement des coopératives en Outaouais for their commitment.

“This initiative will be crowned with success and will prove to be a highly motivation for future recipients of the scholarship, whose research work will contribute to the consolidation of the cooperative movement and regional economic recovery,” she says. "Students can already apply for the $5,000 scholarship. The first scholarship will be awarded in the spring during the annual Fondation de l’UQO scholarship ceremony.
