In the Unusual Events section, the Sécurité Publique des Collines-de-l’Outaouais is reporting an incident that occurred on February 15th at approximately 10:30 p.m. in the Quyon sector of the municipality of Pontiac. Patrollers intervened with a citizen who had just emptied part of the contents of their septic tank in the ditch at the corner of the street.
A call received from the public, led to discover where the ‘leak’ was coming from, not only had it ended up in the ditch but also on the road. The local resident, a 56-year-old man, met with the officers and was issued a $499 fine under the municipal by-law. The municipality was also notified, and steps should be taken with the Ministry of the Environment.
