The FQCQ and the SQ: safety partners for off-road vehicle enthusiasts
The Fédération québécoise des Clubs Quads (FQCQ) and the Sûreté du Québec issued a press release or reiterated their partnership to increase the safety of motorized all terrain vehicle enthusiasts (quad bikes, motorcyclists and autoquadists).
Joint interventions will take place on trails throughout the province. The police, in collaboration with and the FQCQ surveillance officers, will target in their interventions on risky behaviors such as unsafe speed on trails, failure to observe signage or regulations in force; Non-wearing a helmet; And driving while impaired by alcohol, drugs or a combination of both.
According to the SQ, these reckless behaviors are the main causes of collision involving off-road vehicles.
A national operation organized by the SQ with the FQCQ will start this weekend.
The Sûreté intends to complete 100 operations on the trails and where the trails intersections with public roads. Observe signage at trail crossings and public roads, wear your helmet and respect the speed limit (50km / h).
