New measures for municipalities affected by floods

Martin Coiteux, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, Minister of Public Safety and Minister responsible for the Region of Montreal, announced on Tuesday morning new measures to help the municipalities affected by the floods last spring.

There are plans to hold personalized meetings with victims in major affected areas, create partnership committees between the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, for the municipalities having at least 100 requests for help and the groupings of interested municipalities.

It also plans to increase resources to affected municipalities and to establish new collaborations with municipal housing agencies and the Red Cross.
