Fishing for a good cause on Île-du-Grand-Calumet

For the seventh year running, Groupe L’Île-du-Grand-Calumet is organizing its fishing tournament. This family event will take place on Saturday, August 9, starting at 7 a.m. at the municipal wharf. There are three categories: children, teenagers, and adults. Registration fees are $7.50 for under-12s, $12.50 for 13- to 17-year-olds, and $20 for adults. Proceeds from the event will be used to raise funds for promoting the municipality and its heritage. A $200 prize and trophy will be awarded to the winner in each category. Winners are expected to be announced around 4:30 p.m. the same day. Participation prizes will also be awarded. The day will feature various activities, including a 50/50 draw and a canteen. Pre-registration is open online until August 8. On-site registration is also available at 287, Chemin des Outaouais.
