The number of hospitalizations for COVID-19 cases at the Pontiac Hospital is now 8, which prompted the Deputy President and CEO of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais France Dumont to say that the news is good concerning the outbreak at the Hospital located in Shawville.

“I think this outbreak was quickly brought under control in the hospital environment.” We had a number of hospitalizations that went up and down. This is good news, it is stable as contagion. All the measures are in place and people are well aware of the practices, ”says France Dumont.

France Dumont also specified that the human resources situation remains fragile, but that for the moment, the situation is still under control. The CISSS de l’Outaouais has also benefited from additional nurses from the McGill University Health Center (MUHC), in Montreal, in order to compensate for the glaring lack of manpower in the network. The CISSS de l’Outaouais seems confident to see the situation at the Pontiac Hospital improve further.

“We are very confident that next week, it may decrease further,” believes France Dumont.
