Rushed childbirth that ends well in Val-des-Monts

9 June 2021 à 12:00 am

On Wednesday, June 9, at around 2:40 am, the MRC des Collines police officers were called in to assist a woman who was about to give birth in her car. Her partner was with her on the way to the Gatineau hospital, but the baby was rushing out. The spouse dialed 911 and must have stopped in the parking lot of the Richelieu Market at 1732 route du Carrefour in Val-des-Monts.

The two Collines-de-l’Outaouais public security officers arrived on the scene and assisted the mother in giving birth to her baby. First aid was given to mother and baby. Paramedics arrived a few minutes later to pick up the new baby girl and mother while providing transportation to the hospital. Both are doing well.

This is the mother’s third childbirth. For their part, the police were on their first experience, which turned out to be very successful.
