At around 5:17 pm last night (Thursday, February 18), the police received a call for a face-to-face accident near 138 Principale Ouest in La Pêche involving a van and a car.

The two people in the car, a 37-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man from La Pêche, had to be pulled out using the jaws of life. They were taken to hospital to treat serious injuries, but the lives of the victims are not in danger. The driver of the van, a 57-year-old man, also from La Pêche, suffered minor injuries that did not require transport to hospital.

Route Principale Ouest was closed to traffic for part of the evening. The investigation shows that, for some unknown reason, the van deviated from its lane at the exit of a curve which caused the face to face. Speed and alcohol were not involved.
