Since 2003, West Pontiac Connects has sponsored and provided 9 youth programs. These are 19 week programs directed towards the challenged youth in the West Pontiac. Our participants are young people who are facing multiple barriers to finding employment (or returning to school) due to lack of education, single parenting responsibilities, job skills, motivation, self-esteem, or life skills. With the completion of the ninth program we have graduated 80 youth from this program. These programs upgrade the participants’ English, Math, Computer, life and work skills and have changed the majority of these young people from being unemployed, to gainfully employed or returning to school for further, formal education. To-date, these programs have injected over $1,000,000 in grants into the West Pontiac.  

Our next Youth Program begins December 1^st and we are looking for candidates. If you know someone that is:

-15-30 years old
-unemployed or underemployed
-want to upgrade their academic and computer skills
-want to improve their job skills and life skills
-willing to commit to a 21 week paid program that focuses on getting them into the job market or into a school environment
