Robbery suspects arrested
Two Gatineau residents have been charged in connection with a pair of robberies in Ottawa. Last Friday morning, a store on Jolliet Avenue was robbed by a male suspect armed with a knife.
The man fled, empty-handed, in a vehicle with a Quebec trip permit in the window. Ottawa Police called their counterparts in Gatineau, who told them that a man matching that description had committed three robberies in Gatineau overnight and was seen fleeing in the same vehicle.
On Sunday morning, a knife-wielding man robbed a store on Richmond Road and fled in a getaway car.
Gatineau Police believe the same vehicle was used in a robbery in Gatineau less than 30 minutes earlier.
Ottawa Police spotted the vehicle on King Edward Avenue around 12:15 p.m. on Sunday and arrested the driver and a passenger.
