West Quebec regional police are looking for the public's help after they say thieves stole $15,000 worth of copper wire in Wakefield, Que.
 
MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais said the theft happened on Mill Road on the night of Tuesday Aug. 1 or early morning Wednesday Aug. 2.
 
The stolen telephone wiring was already installed on posts and work would have to have been done over many minutes and possibly hours to remove it, police said.
 
Several metres of telephone wire, belonging to Bell Canada, was stolen. The value of the stolen property is estimated at $15,000.
 
Police are asking anyone who noticed anything suspicious between 10 p.m. on Aug. 1 and 8 a.m. Aug. 2 to contact them at 819-459-2422, ext. 3231.
