Lanark OPP probes thefts of two school buses
Ontario Provincial Police in Lanark County are investigating the theft of two school buses from businesses Monday and Tuesday night.The Ottawa Citizen is reporting the stolen buses were discovered at Rideau Ferry Yacht Club Tuesday morning.
Police said the first bus was driven through the closed gates of the club and then along a gravel laneway to a parking area where it struck and broke a metal post. The bus then was driven through a picnic area, across the sand and into the water. It was found in the lake’s swimming area, surrounded by buoys.
The second bus was located on a private property on Otty Lake Side Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lanark County Detachment OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or the confidential TIPS line of Lanark County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
