Revenues falling film in Quebec
Box office revenues of movie theaters in Quebec fell in 2011, but a greater number of moviegoers preferred to Quebec cinema.
The Institut de la statistique du Québec said Friday that the box office had amounted to $ 176.9 million in 2011, representing a decrease of 4.2% on revenues collected the previous year (184.6 million $).
Assistance has also declined from 24 million in 2010 to 22.3 million in 2011. The decrease is 7.1%.
However, the share of assistance to presentations of Quebec films accounted for 10.7% of the total, compared to 9.6% in 2010.
