Fatal Accident on Allumette Island
A young man from Pembroke died Saturday afternoon at 200 Desjardinville on Allumette Island at around 3:30pm. 17 year old Shane Laplante from Pembroke lost control of his car at the end of a curve and then made several rollovers. Resuscitation efforts were done on site but the death of the young man was noted at the Pembroke hospital. Police inform us that alcohol was not a factor but rather the lack of judgment on the road conditions.
