Arena to proceed with sale of gym equipment this weekend

The cooperative operating the Centre de loisirs des Draveurs Century 21 Élite in Fort-Coulonge is moving ahead with selling the equipment from the gym located on the second floor of the facility.

The cooperative board decided that due to the lack of staff supervision, shutdowns due to public health measures and safety issues, the gym was unsustainable in the future. While they had originally planned to have a silent auction this Sunday afternoon (February 20), Fort-Coulonge Mansfield Leisure Coordinator Guillaume Lavoie Harvey explained that now the sale would be first-come-first-serve, with cooperative members having priority access for the first half hour.

He said that they would be selling cooperative memberships at 11:30 a.m. and the sale will start for co-op members at noon. The general public will be able to purchase items at 12:30 p.m.

Lavoie Harvey thanked those that had been involved with setting up and operating the gym, adding that while it wasn’t an easy decision to make, the cooperative’s board believed it to be the best choice for the future.
