William Amos visiting the Pontiac

3 May 2019 à 12:00 am

The Member of Parliament for Pontiac, William Amos, paid a visit to the Pontiac yesterday, Thursday, in some municipalities currently affected by the floods such as Waltham, Mansfield-and-Pontefract, Fort-Coulonge and Isle-aux-Allumettes. There, he met with local authorities to get an assessment of the situation.

In an interview with CHIP 101.9 on the subject, Amos said at the federal government plan is to put in place a support program for victims of the riding of Pontiac during the 2019 floods.

However, Amos said that the distribution of these funds provided by the Government of Canada in such circumstances is at the discretion of the provinces. It is therefore the Government of Quebec that will ensure the distribution of the amounts.
