The Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ) candidate for the Pontiac, Corinne Canuel-Jolicoeur, like other candidates in the riding was present at the Shawville Fair this weekend. In a video posted via her Facebook account, she addressed voters by focusing on accessible health care, physical activity and sports.

“Good morning folks of Pontiac, I hope you’re doing well today,” she said. “As you know, one of our priorities is to have more accessible health care, accessible to everyone in the Pontiac, and also more human. More human for the patients and for the workers, and I will be the strong voice for this priority.”

Canuel-Jolicoeur was also present alongside Premier François Legault, who was in La Pêche on Monday. The CAQ announced that it wants to make reading a priority in Quebec, and promised $10 million will be dedicated to a major reading awareness campaign for the next year, to support various initiatives in favor of reading and access to books. An amount of $300 per teacher, per year, will also be granted for the purchase of Quebec books intended for preschool and elementary school classes, if the government is re-elected.
