Maniwaki, April 19, 2018 – On February 22 at the Théâtre St-Denis in Montreal, UNIS Montréal Day was held, a unique event bringing together speakers and recognized artists to thousands of young people who came to celebrate a year of being proactive in transforming communities and changing lives.

Tyler La Salle, a high school student in Sieur-de-Coulonge, activist and winner of the Forces AVENIR “Committed Student 2017” award, addressed the crowd of 3,000 young people present. Tyler is a very committed student who has demonstrated dedication to improving his community and his school.

On June 9, at the Gala Forces AVENIR 2017 in Gatineau, Tyler was awarded the GOLD MEDAL for the creation of a self-help group at Sieur-de-Coulonge for students struggling with difficult situations such as bullying. The theme of the Gala Forces AVENIR 2017 was “Leadership, perseverance and the fight against bullying”

On October 5, 2017, at the Capitole de Québec, Tyler was fortunate enough to be interviewed by television journalist and host Stephan Bureau.
