The residents of the municipality of Rapides-des-Joachims will soon have to vote in a partial election to appoint two councillors after the seats were left vacant over recent months. In fact, the councillor of seat #3, pro-mayor Maureen Sarrazin, resigned in October and the councillor of seat #4, Paul-André Paquette, resigned in recent weeks, according to the mayor of Rapides-des-Joachims, Jim Gibson. The reason for the two resignations has yet to be known.

Half of the municipal councillors remain on the Rapides-des-Joachims municipal council, which normally seats 5 people, 4 councillors plus the mayor. The date of the election and the various details pertaining to the resignations should be known at the start of 2020.
