The Regional President for the Laurentides-Lanaudière-Outaouais of the Syndicat de la fonction publique et parapublique du Québec, Michel Girard was passing through Campbell’s Bay to meet with employees of the Quebec Ministry of Transport. The objective was to discuss their current reality, as well as negotiations with the Government of Quebec with a view to renewing their collective agreement.

This is the start of a tour that we are going to do in all the CS (Service Centers) in the Laurentides-Lanaudière-Outaouais region. We come to meet each of the workers, with a person who is at the negotiating table, a recourse advisor. We come to chat with them, tell them what is going on, and mobilize them. The goal is also to make their reality known to the population. (…) We would like there to be comparativity with what is done in cities. ”
– Michel Girard, Laurentides-Lanaudière-Outaouais Regional President of the SFPQ

The Syndicat de la function publique et parapublique du Québec hopes to obtain salaries that are comparable to what is offered, in certain places such as on the municipal scene for their workers.
