The leader of the green party of Quebec in Chalk River

The leader of the green party of Quebec (PVQ), Alex Tyrrell, made his way to Chalk river this week to voice his opposition towards the construction of a new nuclear waste storage facility in Chalk river. According to Alex Tyrrell quote ” the project could have serious consequences to the drinking water in the Ottawa river, contaminating Gatineau, Ottawa and even Montreal’s water for thousands of years”. He then suggested to the private consortium that manage the nuclear waste to “find a better and safer site to store the nuclear waste”.
The candidate for the PVQ for the Pontiac, Roger Fleury, was also present at the announcement to voice his opposition:
