The Annual General Meeting of the members of the Caisse Desjardins des Rivières de Pontiac ended Monday evening. Members could vote on the rebate proposed at the AGM, which was held virtually.

“It’s a little funny that we operate like this, but indeed we had to wait until after the AGM to find out what the members had decided and the vast majority voted for the proposed rebate and the aid fund. to the development of the community, ”says Stéphane Labine.

The member dividend should be paid during the month of May.

Virtual AGMs, a challenge or an advantage
125 members of the Caisse Desjardins des Rivières de Pontiac exercised their right to vote.

“Members over 60 were the most likely to vote. We were happy to see that the new technologies had not had a deterrent effect with our older members. Only 5% of the members came from Fort-Coulonge and a high percentage came from elsewhere in the Pontiac, ”explains Stéphane Labine.

The capital project was also discussed. Stéphane Labine explains that it is the members of the board of directors who will decide whether the costs of the project will be disclosed publicly.

“This information comes back to our board, being a private company, we have no obligation to this effect, but members will be kept informed of the progress of the project as and when”, says Stéphane Labine.
