The Union denounces the teleworking measures within the Quebec public service

The Syndicat de la function publique et parapublique du Québec (SFPQ) denounced what it considers a double speech of the Legault government concerning compulsory teleworking and the application of this measure in the ministries and organizations. The Laurentides-Lanaudière-Outaouais Regional President for the SFPQ, Michel Girard, affirms that despite the government decree which makes teleworking compulsory in all companies and in the public sector, state managers Quebecers oppose it. Michel Girard denounces that one of the reasons most often invoked to justify this refusal is the lack of computer equipment. “No, I don’t believe it, we have computers and it’s not as if the current confinement is a surprise” affirms Michel Girard.

In an interview with CHIP 101.9, Michel Girard also denounced certain decisions of managers that allow employee travel, as was the case for an employee between the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau and Campbell’s Bay.
