The Sûreté du Québec will be making more interventions in the coming days

The Police officers of the Sûreté du Québec will intensify their interventions from March 1st to March 10th as part of the Spring Break week, in the Outaouais and Laurentians regions. The most targeted citations will be speeding, distracted driving, seatbelts and impaired driving. Police officers will also pay close attention to aggressive driving: dangerous passing and following too close.

Drivers will also have to be extra careful given the predicted amount of drivers on the road during March Break. Patrol officers are asking drivers to drive safely, to respect the other on the road and drive the speed limits.

Snowmobilers also watched more closely
The Sûreté du Quebec’s operations will also be conducted near and on snowmobile trails watching off-road vehicles. The Sûreté du Québec want to reminds snowmobilers that they must travel on marked trails and respect laws. It should be noted that under section 12.2 of the Off-Road Vehicles Act, it is forbidden to drive on trails between midnight and six a.m., unless there are signs to say the contrary. It should also be noted that the regulations surrounding the practice of snowmobiling are the same, whether you are on trails, public or private roads or on a frozen bodies of water.
