A new party will appear on the Quebec ballot in the October 1 provincial election, the New Democratic Party of Quebec (NPDQ).

This party also organized last weekend a nomination for constituencies in the Outaouais. Samuel Gendron, a native of Aylmer, was nominated for the riding of Pontiac.

The President of the Quebec Regional NPDQ Association for the Outaouais Pierre Ducasse elaborates:

Mr. Ducasse explained in his interview with CHIP 101.9 that he wishes to offer an option to Quebecers with values from the left but not wishing independence from Canada :

Pierre Ducasse was a candidate to become leader of the federal NDP in 2003.

The full French interview with President of the Quebec Regional NDPQ Association for the Outaouais Pierre Ducasse is available here.

An interview with Pierre Ducasse in English is also available.
