The MNA for Pontiac, André Fortin, commented on the decision of the government of Quebec to change the alert level of the MRC Pontiac to limit the spread of COVID-19. The Pontiac, which was the only territory of the Outaouais still in the orange zone, will be a red zone from December 17 until January 11. According to André Fortin, the government has not yet given the reasons for this change and spent the last week intervening so that the MRC Pontiac can remain in orange.

André Fortin asks people to respect public health rules despite growing frustration in the community.

The Warden of the MRC Pontiac, Jane Toller said she was surprised by the decision and mentioned that she was not consulted on this decision.

Note that currently, as of December 15, the Pontiac has 5 or fewer active cases of COVID-19.
