The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais held a press conference to announce that the region will remain in the orange early warning zone this week. From the CISSS de l’Outaouais, Brigitte Pinard mentioned that the virus continues to circulate in the population.

It has been noted that 3 active outbreaks are currently taking place in care and residential settings:
– Gatineau Hospital: 2 active cases
– Residence L’Initial: 9 active cases, 1 case recovered
– Residence Cité Jardin: 2 active cases

The waiting times for screening services in the region attracted attention this week at the National Assembly in Quebec. The new laboratory device will soon be operational and could thus reduce the waiting time according to France Dumont of the CISSS de l’Outaouais. The device has been calibrated and laboratory staff have been trained according to the CISSS, which claims to be awaiting approval from Health Canada.

The outbreaks are updated every working day on the CISSSO website: https://cisssoutaouais.gouv.qc.ca/covid-19/
