The Outaouais region has new cases of COVID-19 on its territory this week. The total has climbed to 581 since the start of the pandemic, three more than the day before.

Still no case has been listed in the MRC Pontiac.

The number of active cases in the region stands at 71, while 477 cases have recovered to date. There have also been 33 deaths from the new coronavirus in the Outaouais.

On Thursday, the director of public health, Dr. Horacio Arruda, confirmed that the data on COVID-19 will now be published once a week rather than daily.

He says it is not a political decision, but an adjustment to stop inflating daily data with cases or deaths that are added late.

The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais also indicated that the frequency of COVID-19 data updates will be changed, depending on national data.

The update of regional data will be published every Thursday afternoon via https://cisss-outaouais.gouv.qc.ca/covid-19/.
