The CSSHBO changes the school transport schedule in view of the teachers’ strike day on April 14

13 April 2021 à 12:00 am

The day of the teachers’ strike in the Pontiac caused changes to the school transportation schedule. The teachers’ strike scheduled between midnight and 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday April 14, will ensure that school starts later than usual, school transportation will be adjusted accordingly, but classes will end on time. The Director General of the Hauts-Bois-de-l’Outaouais School Service Center (CSSHBO), Denis Rossignol, sent a communication concerning the changes to the schedule.

“To all parents/guardians of schools and centers and students of the Adult Education Center and the Vocational School, we bring to your attention that the teachers will be on strike from Wednesday April 14, 2021 to 12:01 am to 9:30 am This strike has several repercussions on the school day of all the students at the School Service Center. So, on Wednesday April 14, there is no daycare open in the morning, and school transportation will be postponed by 2 hours (e.g .: if your child usually takes the bus at 7:05 a.m., he will take the bus. bus at 9:05 a.m.). No childcare service will be offered in the morning. To ensure safety, no student, young or adult, can come to school before 9:45 am. The end of classes will end at the usual time, ”explained the Director General of the CSSHBO, Denis Rossignol.

As far as the Western Quebec School Board is concerned, teaching will be done remotely.

“Since most of our students are transported by school buses that often make multiple trips to several schools, this strike will have a significant impact on bus schedules and morning child care. Thus, on April 14, Western Quebec schools will offer distance education to all elementary and secondary students. In addition, all general and vocational training centers for adults will be remote. Distance learning will begin at 9.45 a.m. on April 14. This decision aims to avoid any logistical confusion that could compromise the health and safety of the students. In addition, schools will not be able to accommodate students without the supervision required to comply with public health guidelines. All daycares, with the exception of the Lord Aylmer Senior Campus Emergency Daycare, will be closed on April 14, 2021. The emergency daycare will open at 9.45am on April 14, 2021 ”, explains the Director General of the Western School Board Quebec, Mike Dubeau.
