The CSHBO divides its territory into districts

The Hauts-Bois-de-l’Outaouais School Board (CSHBO), divided its territory into five districts made up of a similar number of students while respecting certain barriers pre-established by Law 40, which amends the Education Act, adopted by the Government of Quebec in February. The secretary general of the CSHBO, Louis-Philippe Larivière, explained the usefulness of this new division.

The five districts of the future School Service Centre are as follows:
1. District de la Cité étudiante de la Haute-Gatineau
2. District le Rucher
3. District du Cœur-de-la-Gatineau
4. District des Petits Ponts
5. District Sieur-de-Coulonge

Following the adoption of Law 40, on February 8th, 2020, school boards were obligated to do a transition to School Service Centres. These centres will be governed by a board of directors made up of parents, community representatives and staff members. The new board of directors will officially be in effect on June 15th.

As explained in Law 40, each of the five districts will be represented by a member of the parents’ committee, who will be appointed by the members of this committee. The recommendations and consultation of the parents’ committee, the management advisory committee and the advisory committee were requested for the new separation of these districts.
