Teams from other parts of the region come to help SOPFEU

The SOPFEU issued a press release which stated that more than 400 thousand lightning strikes have been recorded for the month of July. The lightning strikes have started more than 125 forest fires throughout the province and that these fires have caused a huge addition to the workload for all the teams of SOPFEU.

They also mentioned that SOPFEU received the help from over 400 fire fighters outside the province of Québec. These resources, coming from different parts of the American States and Canadian provinces, were deployed to territories according to their operational needs.

SOPFEU intervened on 462 fires to date, representing more than the average fire in the past 10 years. A total of 335 fires were reported to this day last year.
