The CSN union was delighted to announce the changes to the titles of beneficiary attendants (préposés aux bénéficiaires), who will now bare the new title of psychiatric intervention officers (d’agent d’intervention en milieu psychiatrique). The CSN describes this change as a victory for the union.

The president of the Syndicat des travailleuses et des travailleurs de la santé et des services sociaux de l’Outaouais CSN – Outaouais, Josée McMillan, explains.

According to the CSN union, the establishment of dedicated staff focused on mental health in the Outaouais could easily be applied elsewhere in Quebec. The union is now also calling on the Legault government to “push the envelope” everywhere else in Quebec.
